What are Orthotics?
Foot Orthotics are devices worn in your shoes that provide correction and assistance to your feet. This helps them to function more efficiently. Aches and pains such as:

may be the result of poor foot function.​

Prescription orthotics help realign and stabilize the bones in your feet to help restore normal walking pattern. In turn prescription foot orthotics can help to relieve your aches and pains.
At Emerald Chiroproactic we provide orthotics for people of all ages ranging from children to grandparents. We have also provide orthotics to athlete's, rugby, football players as well as many other causal sports people.

The Orthotic Process
At Emerald Chiropractic we carry out a full posture assessment which involves static and dynamic gait analysis. From this we are able to show you the areas of you feet which are under the most pressure when standing and walking. Your therapist will explain to you what this mean and what impact it can have on your body.
A biomechanical assessment of the foot and ankle is then carried out. This helps to indicate any restrictions within the foot and ankle.
We then move on to scanning the foot, which creates a 3d image of the foot. This is then transferred to the software to start designing your custom made orthotic. Once this is complete we are then ready to download this to our in house 3D printer which will then create the finished product.
